  • Ingredients:
  • 400 grams of fish fillet
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 red onion
  • 200 grams of shrimp
  • 100 grams of yellow cheese
  • 1 cup of thick bechamel sauce

Bechamel

  • 70 grams of butter
  • 70 grams of wheat flour
  • 500 ml of milk
  • Salt, pepper and grated nutmeg to taste
  • How to prepare baked fish and shrimp

    • Season the shrimp and fish fillets. To the latter, add lemon juice as well. Leave them in this marinade for at least 2 hours.
    • In a deep baking dish, place half of the fish fillets. Place the onion cut in thin julienne on them, then the shrimp and on top of these the grated cheese. Top everything with the remaining half of the fish fillets.
    • In a saucepan, prepare the bechamel sauce. Put the butter over low heat and when it is melted add the flour. Stir with a wooden spoon and add the milk, little by little without stopping to stir, to avoid lumps from forming. Add salt, grated nutmeg, and ground pepper to taste. Keep cooking without stopping moving, until it thickens to the point shown in the photo.
    • Top the stuffed fish fillets with the bechamel sauce. Bake them for 20 minutes at a temperature of 180ºC. If you want to gratin them, add grated cheese and turn the oven to 220ºC for the last 5 minutes.
    • If you don’t want them gratin, you can finish the plate by adding finely chopped parsley.
